What are NICU Milestone Beads? When babies are born early or with special healthcare concerns, milestones have a very different meaning. Hand to Hold’s NICU Milestone Beads celebrate each special step in a family’s NICU journey. For NICU parents, the beads are more than just a piece of jewelry - they are symbols to always cherish how far you and your baby have come in your family’s NICU journey.

Each kit contains materials for 25 necklaces.

The Milestone Bead Necklace Kit includes milestones typically experienced by families who have a more complex or longer NICU stay, or for hospitals that want to expand their bead offering beyond the most common milestones celebrated in the NICU.

Every kit includes 25 of each of the following: Hand to Hold signature Stork Charm, necklace, information card, gift packaging, and one package of 25 NICU Milestone Bead Charts in English. (One package of Spanish Milestone Bead Charts may be substituted in full or ordered separately if preferred.)

The Expanded Kit includes 25 of each of the following milestone beads: First Hold, First Feeding, First Diaper Change, First Bath, First Clothes, Room Air, Kangaroo Care, Open Crib and Home Sweet Home. Finally, the Expanded Kit comes with the option of including 25 of the Discharge Class, Support Group or 100 Day beads.

The Essential Kit includes 25 of each of the following: Hand to Hold signature Stork Charm, mini information card, necklace and gift packaging, First Diaper Change, First Hold, First Bath, First Feeding, and Home Sweet Home.
